Dante Pirtle Uses Hip-Hop to Heal with Latest Album ‘The Hell I Know’

Dante Pirtle is an up and coming singer and songwriter who lives in Minneapolis, MN. Originally from East Saint Louis, IL, he has been creating music with the intent to heal black trauma one song at a time. His latest album is titled ‘The Hell I Know’, and it is perhaps his best effort at creating hip hop that heals. Released on October 31st, 2020, ‘The Hell I Know’ is an underground record involving people living in the twin cities area.

The album arrives at a momentous time in America’s history. With the brutal killing of George Floyd, millions of people have rallied across the globe in support of ‘Black Lives Matter’, and have launched active campaigns against systemic racism embedded within the roots of society. Sick and tired of the silence around the suffering and racism experienced by members of the Black community, Dante Pirtle has played his part as an activist the best way he knows – through his music. Using powerful and poignant lyricism, Dante Pirtle urges audiences to reflect and think about the state of affairs the world is in. With poetic and powerful imagery and visceral details in every lyric, Dante Pirtle forces the listener to empathize with the Black community and helps them understand the anxiety associated with the traumatic experiences that have sadly become the norm.

‘The Hell I Know’ is perhaps the most unique ambient and experimental hip hop album out there with regards to the way its recorded and the societal issues that it tackles. Bordering on the edge of ‘New Age’ and ‘Soul’ music, the album does a beautiful job at portraying the anxiety within the Black community due to trauma, and does an even better job at restoring the faith in humanity of those affected by its soulful, cathartic beats. Ensuring that the album is well-received throughout the world, Dante Pirtle involved many other beloved artists in the recording of this album. ‘The Hell I Know’ features artists such as Alicia Renee, Durbz, and Niles, artists that truly elevate the grand nature of this album to a higher level. Executively produced by Prospect Grizzly and Jeff Adams, ‘The Hell I Know’ is the album that will skyrocket Dante Pirtle to stardom.

Pricy Releases His Debut Album "No Game, No Glory" Produced by TOPE

Portland rapper Pricy has been a local rap legend for over a decade, only popping up on select guest appearances, burning verses to the ground, and disappearing again until called upon. That was until now - Pricy has finally put together his debut album titled "No Game, No Glory" produced entirely by another Portland legend, TOPE and all we can say is it was worth the wait. Drawing inspiration from some of Rap's most legendary writers and story-tellers including Too Short, Ice-T, Slick Rick, and more - Pricy attacks every track with nothing but originality, providing listeners with clever wordplay, unique metaphors, and a story to every song on this album. "No Game, No Glory" takes listeners on a ride from start to finish allowing insight into who Pricy is as an artist and a person as he opens up on songs like "Pretty Tony" addressing the passing of his father Anthony Jackson, meanwhile painting vivid scenes of his life on "Street Lights" and "Talk Nice." Pricy even takes time to show respect to Portland landmarks including "Council Crest" and "KBOO" (co-produced by Zach Striar). Recorded entirely in Oakland, CA "No Game, No Glory" gives us the feel of a West Coast classic album with only one listen, including theatrical skits and top-notch production from beginning to end. On "Funny Words" Pricy pens a cautionary tale of falling in love before being able to trust your partner and where the downfalls of lust can take you. With a sound that is truly bigger than one city or region, Pricy still takes time to show love to his hometown, Portland - especially in the Official Music Video for "Street Lights" filmed in Downtown Portland.

Not only known as a rapper, but Pricy is truly an artist, dabbling in Videography and Photography and also announced the release of his new clothing brand Castle Ill with the release of his project "No Game, No Glory." Available now on his website Castleill.com, Pricy is looking to make Castle Ill a new hub for not only his music and clothing but where other artists and photographers can submit their work to be featured as well.

Stream Pricy's debut album "No Game, No Glory," now available on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Tidal, and more!

Rock Mecca - Crush Your Enemies Totally (ft. Killah Priest & DV Alias Khryst)

SpaceLAB Recordings in association with Rebel Vein Entertainment & Soulspazm Records presents “Crush Your Enemies Totally”, the latest single off Queens emcee supreme Rock Mecca’s upcoming EP Rise To Power, which will arrive at streaming services & digital stores early Spring 2022.

Rock Mecca has been preparing fans for Rise To Power’s release over the last 6 months by consistently releasing singles, & the 4th outing on this streamlined & unapologetic EP is “Crush Your Enemies Totally.” “CYET” is a new beginning of sorts, as it also serves as Rock Mecca’s formal debut as a Producer. After putting in enough years as an emcee, you inevitably form a vision of the type of beats you want to hear, & stepping behind the boards for the first time, Rock combines sample chops of eerie legato violins atop classic breakbeat-inspired drums as he paints vivid pictures of preparation for war, paranoia & careful surveillance of one’s enemies - the song’s title inspired by Robert Greene’s 15th Law in The 48 Laws of Power.

Rock Mecca has quietly assembled a resume of collaborations that reads like a who’s-who of classic hip-hop, & “Crush Your Enemies Totally” is no different, once again reaching out to the Wu-Tang family tree in the form of Killah Priest, who delivers the same quality of poetic & abstract wordplay that has helped him remain a fan favorite over the last 25 years. Priest sets the tone in the first bar with a Ghengis Khan reference & the deadly serious delivery doesn’t relent until the verse concludes.

The chorus is rounded out by Brownsville, Brooklyn mainstay DV Alias Khryst - often referred to respectfully as “the underground Nate Dogg”, known for pairing melody with grit as he’s laced many a chorus for the likes of Smooth Da Hustler, Trigger Da Gambler, M.O.P., Mobb Deep & many more since his formal debut in 1996 on The Nutty Professor soundtrack.

Rise To Power also includes guest appearances from Ruste Juxx, Cappadonna, Pacewon, Big Rube, Krumbsnatcha, Edo.G, & reggae artist Metric Man. Production is handled by long-time collaborator Jake Palumbo, as well as Wrona, DJ DJO-One, Rock Mecca himself & more.

ONYX Drops "Bo! Bo! Bo!" Video from Upcoming '1993' Album

1993 was one of the best years in Hip Hop with debut albums from Snoop Dogg Wu-Tang and Onyx. On March 4th Onyx will take us back in time with their new album "1993." Get out your hoodies, Timbs, shine those bald heads, and Slam!

Ukrainian producer Stasevich handles the production of the album. The beats sound like it was made in 1993 with hard drums and dark samples. Fun fact, the album was recorded in 24 hours in one studio session. Fredro Starr says "We didn't write any lyrics on this album, this is a vibe."

Onyx flow sounds similar to the first album 'BACDAFUCUP' released in 1993 on Def Jam Records. Fredro Starr and Sticky Fingaz take us on a ride through the United States Ghetto with Hardcore lyrics and grimey melodies.

In the new single "BO! BO! BO!" Sticky Fingaz raps "Gunshots bouncing off the wall, Bullets playing ping pong, Hang you from a building motherfucka, King Kong." Onyx is bringing it back!! "1993"

Rawmny Wildcat Unleashes Triumphant New Powerhouse Anthem in “Fearless”

Toronto hip hop artist Rawmny Wildcat channels energy and heart into an anthemic, hard-hitting production around the tropes and techniques that reinforced early 2000’s rap with his newest single, “Fearless (feat. CHXXX)” — available now.

The freshly cut single is set to be featured on his forthcoming album, WILDCAT — a release that will be "composed of songs that are personal and relatable, as I delve deep into my journey as a child born and raised in Ethiopia and moved to Canada as a young teen,” Rawmny reveals. “My life has been full of adventure and many challenges I had to overcome to get where I am today.”

Harkening back to the radio bangers that nothing short of defined the early aughts, “Fearless” is an amalgamation of Ludacris and Lil Wayne’s production styles — with a splash of Rick Ross for flavor.

Couple that with a feature from Rawmny (pronounced Raw Money) Wildcat’s close collaborator and friend, CHXXX, and you’ve got a recipe for success.

Finding himself quarantined during lockdown, as much of the world did, it was after being exposed to COVID and not sure what to do, or how to kill two weeks in solitary, that “Fearless” was written and recorded.

“While I was home, I was talking with CHXXX, who is a frequent collaborator and friend,” he recalls. “We got amped over a beat I was playing that was sent to me by my producer-friend from Chicago, Clark Make Hits. Chxxx really liked the hook, and he wrote his verse on the spot during that call.”

Turning a somber time in quarantine into a productive and empowering moment, the two got to work recording their verses. With seemingly all the time in the world, Rawmny Wildcat collected the takes and sent them over to producer and hitmaker, Clark Make Hits.

“I was glad I had my mic with me.  I was able to record the song and make good use of the time. We both recorded our parts and sent the files over for mixing soon after.”

The spirit of triumph is deeply rooted in the production process of “Fearless”; the story of overcoming tribulation and creating a full-scale production during the heart of the quarantine isn’t lost on listeners looking for deeper meaning in the song.

In fact, it speaks to the character traits of both Rawmny and CHXXX to get something like this done without the assurances of meeting your collaborators and feeling their cadence out when creating a track together.

Working with a handful of bands and collaborators to hone his craft, Rawmny eventually teamed up with Toronto-based indie label, Motive Music Canada. The team worked together to release Rawmny’s 2020 album, Once Upon A Life.

Rawmny Wildcat’s new album, WILDCAT, is set for release this Spring 2022.

“Fearless (feat. CHXXX)” is available now.
