Ike Breeze Goes to "Tampa Bay" with Snoop Dogg

written by Marty McFly
The Hip-Hop art form is a blank canvas of potential. It’s up to the artist to draw inspiration from the world around them. As the paint begins to dry, creativity will start to take shape. Now it’s time to share your masterpiece with the world.

BMT Music Group recording artist, Ike Breeze, is a talented rapper from Tampa Bay, Florida. His mother was a gospel singer/pianist, while his father was a member of the Grambling University band. Coming from a line of musicians made his introduction to music inevitable. He began writing poetry which eventually led to penning down rap lyrics. As the years passed, he focused his talent on creating music with the sole purpose of impacting the culture.

His latest single, titled “Tampa Bay,” features Hollywood and legendary Hip-Hop icon Snoop Dogg. The collaborative effort highlights each artist and what they bring to the table. It isn’t easy holding your own alongside a mainstream artist with close to three decades in the game, but Ike Breeze exceeded all expectations.

His previous release, titled “Sociopath,” features former G-Unit artist Young Buck. With a gritty street tone on full display, the two emcees go head to head while exchanging aggressive bars from start to finish. If you’re new to Ike Breeze, you might want to do your homework and check out his full music discography. Nigerian Rapper BANGGZ Drops New Banger “Who’s Gassing Who?”

With the release of his newest song, “Who’s Gassing Who?,” Ottawa-based Nigerian rapper Banggz commands the spotlight in a constantly expanding catalog full of pop rappers echoing mainstream tropes.

Banggz sounds like a seasoned vocalist in his newest single, hinting at this musician’s expertise when it comes to producing. Banggz often approaches his music endeavors singlehandedly; responsible for writing, performances, and production, Banggz uses his ever-growing catalog to showcase his prowess when it comes to executing a project.

Drawing inspiration from multiple genres of music — including hip-hop, afrobeat, jazz, and funk to name a few — Banggz uses this inspiration to further his connection to his childhood roots. The intimate connection resulted in the creation of a handful of passion projects which have received excellent public reception, such as “Jostice,” a story about Banggz birthplace Jos, Nigeria, and “Yawa” which is a banger laced with afrobeat influences.

Banggz has gained an impressive amount of performance experience in Ottawa after playing a variety of shows and participating in the CRUIZE CNTRL tour. This experience, as well as innate ability to tell a story, creates the overwhelming confidence that “Who’s Gassing Who?” exudes. The up-and-coming rapper looks to bring light to his unique music background while grabbing the attention of listeners. Fusing heavy-hitting drum samples with synthesizers and vocal performances, Banggz uses bombastic lyrics to uplift and inspire listeners while driving home his critical message: “I’m cut from a different cloth.”

“I was drawn to the hook ‘If I am fly and you are fly then who’s the pilot?’. It refers to the plethora of rappers making music and separates me from them.” The atmosphere that Banggz generates in his production style, coupled with his ever-growing level of professional experience, indicates that this rapper can walk the walk.

However, it’s not all hard-talk for Banggz. In fact, he reflects a little on his own life in “Who’s Gassing Who?” while expressing a bit of vulnerability. “In the second verse, I tried opening up more about my life outside of music and what I struggle with. The verse, ‘I am not afraid of anything or anyone but college’ shows that I believe my aspirations are likely to come to fruition beyond the four walls of a learning institution.”

It’s this blend of swagger and introspection that create such a unique listening experience. The splash of Banggz personality into the music production itself is a refreshing touch; “Who’s Gassing Who?” creates enough noise to let listeners know that Banggz is here to stay for good.

Shabaam Sahdeeq Teams with Nick Wiz on New Album "Cabin Fever"

It's official, Shabaam Sadeeq and Nick Wiz have done it again…Underground Hip Hop icon Shabaam Sahdeeq and renowned music producer Nick Wiz return to their roots to bring us a wildly versatile body of work titled “Cabin Fever.”

There’s no doubt that over the past few years most of us were quarantined and may have felt a bit of cabin fever from time to time. That said, while many of us were moping about, Shabaam and Nick Wiz used their time wisely by creating a melodic masterpiece for us.

While Shabaam delivers top-tier lyrics, Nick’s musical genius shines through on his elite production. The soundscape contains eleven electrifying tracks with both local and global appeal. The lineup also has a few powerhouse features from D.V. alias Khryst, LoVel, Ran Reed, R.E.K.S & Phantasm, and U.G (each from the Cella Dwellas).

The duo dropped riveting ‘Thunderin’ with a visual to set the tone for the entire project, which depicts themselves as characters from the highly popular adult cartoon “South Park.” What’s even more amazing, 19-year-old Shabaam Sahdeeq makes an appearance on the last joint “Do or Die” which was originally a demo that only aired on Stretch & Bobbito Radio show back in 1996, when Shabaam Sahdeeq first surfaced. Shabaam also showcases his bilingual skills on banger “Soul Food Sofrito” going back to his Venezuelan roots.
